PGE announces tender for construction of 26 energy storage facilities

The PGE Group has initiated a tender for constructing 26 distributed energy storage facilities across five Polish voivodeships, with a total capacity of 107 MW and 214 MWh. These facilities will help manage surplus renewable energy and stabilize the grid by storing excess power for use during high demand periods. This project aims to enhance the flexibility of the National Power System and support renewable energy development.
PGE Inwest 21, a special purpose vehicle, will oversee the project, using a competitive dialogue for the tender process. PGE Group, a major player in Poland's energy sector, produces 41% of the country's electricity and serves 5.5 million customers, with a 10% share in the renewable energy market.
