PGE Dystrybucja has contract for PLN 61.46 mln for reconstruction of power stations

PGE Dystrybucja signed a grant agreement with Poland’s National Fund for Environmental Protection (NFOŚiGW) for a project to upgrade four power stations in Łódź Voivodeship—Tomaszów 1, Pioma, Piotrków Wschód, and Rogowiec Stary. The project, worth over 102 million PLN, will receive about 61.5 million PLN in funding. It supports the development of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure under the “Zero-emission energy system” program. This is PGE’s third such grant, aiding Poland’s energy transition.
The project will reduce CO₂, NOₓ, and fine dust emissions, while increasing grid capacity and reliability—facilitating more EV charging stations and renewable energy sources. PGE serves 5.5 million customers and is a major player in Poland’s power and heat markets, listed on the WIG20 index.
