PGZ and ICEYE plan deeper cooperation on satellite tech for reconnaissance
Polish defense group PGZ and space company ICEYE plan to deepen cooperation on satellite technologies for reconnaissance, communications and national security. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the long-term goal could be a Polish equivalent of Starlink, strengthening the country’s strategic autonomy. The project will focus on low-Earth-orbit systems and rely heavily on domestic defense companies. ICEYE already supplies Poland with radar satellites under a contract worth about 860 mln PLN.
Separately, the Armament Agency signed a roughly 3 bln PLN contract with Mesko for Piorun air-defense systems, while PGZ unveiled a new heavy infantry fighting vehicle, Niedźwiedź. The government says these projects will support both national security and Poland’s defense industry.
