Piwowa invests PLN 230 mln in automated warehouse
Kompania Piwowarska, which makes Lech, Tyskie and Żubr beers, has opened a 230 million zloty automated high-bay warehouse at its Poznań brewery, its largest logistics investment to date. The facility adds more than 41,000 pallet spaces, increasing the brewery’s total capacity from 23,000 to about 58,000. The company aims to raise direct deliveries from the brewery to customers’ warehouses from 50% to about 90%, reducing intermediate storage, transport and handling.
Twelve automated cranes move pallets, while a link to the existing warehouse can handle up to 552 pallets per hour. The company expects the changes to cut annual transport-related carbon emissions by more than 2,300 tons, or 5%. Full capacity is planned for March 2027.
