The long-awaited development of the Warszawa Gdańska railway station is back on track. The project, led by PKP Group companies – PKP and Xcity Investment – in partnership with Ghelamco Group, will deliver a new station for passengers and a modern business hub for Warsaw residents. An annex to the investment agreement has been signed, marking the project's revival.
The joint venture involves constructing a new railway station alongside four mixed-use commercial buildings, covering an estimated 100,000 sqm. The station itself will span about 1,900 sqm. The development will unfold in five phases, with the final phase focusing on the new station's construction.
"Since the beginning of its history, the railroad has had a strong impact on its surroundings... Projects implemented with third-party investors are a good direction to unlock this potential in the right way," Andrzej Bułczyński, a member of the PKP Management Board, said.
"We are very excited to resume our cooperation with PKP, as we see great potential in the Warszawa Gdańska station for creating a valuable space that will address the needs of Warsaw residents, businesses, and passengers." Ghelamco Poland's Managing Director, Jarosław Zagórski, expressed optimism.
