PKP Cargo's restructuring plan will not be ready by the October 25 court deadline, as announced by interim CEO Marcin Wojewódka. The plan is now expected to be presented between 2024 and 2025. The company, in restructuring since July 2024, aims to cut costs sharply, leading to layoffs of nearly 3,800 employees. The restructuring focuses on three main areas: cost reduction, improving service sales, and enhancing organizational efficiency.
PKP Cargo, Poland’s largest freight rail carrier, is facing financial difficulties, and maintaining liquidity is a critical challenge. The company is also working in coordination with a court-appointed administrator to navigate the ongoing restructuring.
