PM: at midnight from Wednesday to Thursday Poland will open Belarus border crossings

Poland will reopen its border crossings with Belarus, both road and rail, after a temporary closure linked to the Russian-Belarusian military exercises Zapad-2025. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the Interior Minister will issue the regulation on Tuesday, stressing that the closure tool remains available if threats re-emerge. All crossings had been shut since September 12, suspending traffic in both directions due to security concerns and heightened regional instability.
Tusk emphasized that if tensions or hostile actions increase, Poland will not hesitate to close the borders again. Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński previously assured that crossings would only reopen once Polish security was guaranteed.
