Poland 2050 plans to propose energy price freeze in 2024
Poland 2050 plans to submit a bill to the Sejm regarding freezing electricity prices next year, announced lawmaker Paulina Henning-Kloska. The goal is to address the significant inflationary impact, especially on electricity prices, by working on solutions to halt the expected 70% increase. Henning-Kloska emphasized the need for a milder approach, even if they have to move away from freezing prices to counter inflation.
The government recently adopted a draft amendment to support electricity, gas, and heat consumers, proposing to extend the maximum prices for electricity and gas in 2023 at the 2022 levels, with specific limits and thresholds for different consumer groups.
