Poland amongst safest and cheapest seaside destinations in EU
Croatia, Lithuania, and Poland ranked as the safest coastal countries in the European Union, according to a study by Philippou Law Firm. The ranking assessed 22 countries based on household spending, housing costs, income taxes, perceived crime, sunshine, and average temperature.
Croatia placed first for safety and overall, with only 1.4% of residents reporting crime, violence, or vandalism in their area. Lithuania ranked second for safety, followed by Poland, where the figure was 2.8%. Estonia and Latvia completed the top five.
Greece received the lowest safety score, with 20.9% of residents reporting local crime or disorder. It also had the highest housing-cost burden, although its warm climate and abundant sunshine helped it place 14th overall. The study emphasized that popular tourist destinations are not necessarily the best places for permanent relocation.
