Poland appoints coordinator for digital services to implement DSA
Poland’s UKE says it is preparing to serve as the country’s Digital Services Coordinator under the EU’s Digital Services Act. The first implementing law has been signed, but a second bill awaiting the president’s decision would authorize rapid administrative blocking of a defined list of serious illegal online content at prosecutors’ or police request. It would also shorten evidence-sharing deadlines to 24 hours in covered cases. The proposal has faced political criticism as potential internet censorship.
UKE has built a digital services department and is preparing user complaint procedures, platform oversight, child-protection work, and cooperation with EU regulators. The agency says it is organizationally ready, though national legal tools remain incomplete until the second bill is resolved.
