Poland increases electricity exports
Poland was a net electricity exporter in the first seven months of 2026, according to data from transmission system operator PSE. Electricity exports reached 9,547.3 GWh, up nearly 10% y/y, while imports fell about 7% to 7,319 GWh. More than 80% of Polish electricity exports went to Slovakia, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Germany recorded the strongest growth, with exports rising more than 42% y/y to 2,834.1 GWh.
Germany was also Poland’s largest electricity supplier, accounting for nearly 47% of imports, followed by Sweden and the Czech Republic. Exports to Ukraine more than doubled to 672.8 GWh from 294.7 GWh a year earlier.
