Poland Leads EU in Ice Cream Production Growth

Poland has become the leader in ice cream production growth across the European Union, according to Eurostat data. In 2024, the country produced 298 million liters of ice cream, marking a 29 percent jump compared to 2023. This placed Poland fifth among EU producers, ahead of several larger economies.
Overall, EU production reached 3.3 billion liters last year, up 2 percent from 2023. Germany remained the top producer (607 million liters), followed by France (501 million) and Italy (492 million). Yet only Poland recorded growth, while output fell in the other leading countries.
Polish ice cream exports rose 13 percent to 117,000 tons, with their value climbing to €405 million. The bulk of sales – 84 percent – went to EU markets, mainly Germany, France, and Spain. With this momentum, Poland is positioning itself as a key hub for industrial ice cream production and distribution in Central and Eastern Europe.
