Poland leads productivity
Poland ranked first among OECD countries for labor-productivity growth, according to Bankier.pl’s report on the latest OECD productivity indicators. The data show Poland’s output per hour worked rising sharply over the long term, reflecting the country’s successful catch-up with richer Western economies. Bankier notes, however, that the result should not be read as a simple victory lap. Productivity gains have been strong, but future growth will depend more heavily on investment, technology adoption and innovation rather than lower labor costs or post-transition convergence.
For international investors, the figures reinforce Poland’s reputation as one of Europe’s stronger real-economy performers, while also highlighting the need for deeper capital investment if the country is to sustain its advantage.
