The newly published Emerging Technologies Index (ETI) identifies 95 breakthrough technologies across nine domains, from biotechnology and energy to AI, quantum computing, and space exploration. Prepared by infuture.institute, the report aims to provide businesses, governments, and investors with a strategic map of technologies shaping the next decade.

While the U.S. and China dominate global innovation spending, the report warns that Europe’s role is declining due to restrictive regulations, high energy costs, and slow economic growth. Yet Poland is highlighted as a country with strong fundamentals – well-educated talent, a growing economy, and opportunities created by geopolitical pressures, including energy security and the war in Ukraine.

Technologies with the greatest potential for Poland include advanced materials, quantum communication, and biotechnologies such as gene editing and nanomedicine. Mature innovations like mRNA vaccines, small modular reactors, and generative AI also offer fertile ground for expansion.

“Technology today is not just an economic driver but the foundation of sovereignty,” Natalia Hatalska, CEO of infuture.institute said.

“Poland has the chance to become a co-creator of technological progress rather than just an observer – provided we act decisively and invest in deep tech early,” she added.
