Poland has secured a strong position in Europe’s fashion export market, ranking 4th in clothing and 6th in footwear, according to new data analyzed by Akcenta. In 2024, Polish exports of clothing, shoes, and accessories brought in €16.6 billion, underscoring the sector’s growing international importance.
Non-knitted apparel remains the strongest category, generating €7.05 billion in exports, up 18 percent y/y, giving Poland 4th place in Europe and 8th globally. Knitted clothing also posted solid growth, with exports reaching €5.62 billion, up 10 percent y/y, positioning Poland 6th in Europe. Germany remains the main buyer across all categories, followed by France, the Czech Republic, and Romania. According to Radosław Jarema, director of Akcenta’s Polish branch, Poland’s edge comes from combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, while managing currency risks is key to sustaining growth.
