Poland has secured a license allowing domestic production of components for the Homar-K multiple rocket launcher system, expanding local participation in one of the country’s defense programs. The Armament Agency signed the licensing agreement with South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace. Polish companies will be able to manufacture more than 600 components and transport-launch containers and will also gain the ability to assemble launcher modules.
The agreement deepens technology transfer connected with Poland’s purchases of South Korean equipment. Homar-K combines a Polish Jelcz truck chassis and domestic command systems with Korean rocket-launcher technology. Building more of the system locally is intended to strengthen maintenance, servicing and supply capabilities while increasing the share of defense spending retained by Polish industry. The deal arrives as policymakers emphasize the need to move beyond imports and develop domestic technological and manufacturing capacity in the defense sector.
