Poland third largest chocolate exporter in Europe
According to a report presented by E. Wedel, Poland is the third largest exporter of chocolate in Europe, with a result of 295,000 tons of sweets sent abroad in 2022 and a 7.1% market share, according to Eurostat data. Only Germany (680,000 tons) and the Netherlands (322,000 tons) are ahead in chocolate exports.
Chocolate consumption in Poland remains at a similar level to last year, at around 5.9 kg per person per year. Analysts estimate that by 2028 consumption will increase by 8.5% to 6.4 kg. The global sweets market is currently worth $113.6 billion and is expected to grow by about 51% by 2028. In Poland, the value of the sweets market is around PLN 10.315 billion, an increase of 17% compared to last year.
