Poland’s Salary Market in Transition: A Report

Mercer’s 2024 Total Remuneration Survey highlights major shifts in Poland’s pay landscape, driven by skills-based hiring, wage transparency, and regulatory pressure.
“The growing importance of competencies means companies must rethink pay strategies to attract and retain talent,” Małgorzata Ciarka, Career Business Leader at Mercer Poland & CEE, said.
Nearly 900 companies contributed data on 3,100 job roles, with strong representation from manufacturing, life sciences, retail, and energy. Life sciences offered the highest salaries—16 percent above average—while regional gaps reached 30 percent, with Warsaw leading and eastern Poland trailing.
Employee engagement and mental health emerged as top HR priorities.
“Firms are investing in mental well-being and data-driven HR tools to strengthen recruitment and development,” Ciarka added.
