“From Thursday 16 April we are introducing the obligation to cover the nose and mouth in public space because this will limit the spread of the epidemic,” Minister of Health Łukasz Szumowski said. He appealed once again not to visit the families during the holidays.

"If these restrictions were loosened, if we spent these holidays in the way we usually spent them – joyfully and together with all friends, relatives, distant family, in a month we would have 30,000-50,000 more sick people, and this would mean that several hundred people from this group would die,”  he noted.

He added that there are more and more sick people in Poland, sometimes asymptomatic.

“Wearing the masks helps protect not us who will wear these masks and scarves, but others from us,” Szumowski explained.
