Two Polish athletes, Paweł Wociechowski and Piotr Lisek took the gold and silver medals in the pole vault competition on March 2. Wojciechowski cleared 5.90 meters, while Lisek 5.85 meters.

Swede Melker Svärd Jacobsson came in third. On the same day, Ewa Swoboda claimed another gold medal for Poland in the 60-meter dash competition.
