This year, as in the previous one, most people will purchase Christmas gifts partly online and partly offline – 45.8 percent. However, this method of shopping has dropped by 12 percentage points y/y. In contrast, traditional shopping has gained 13.9 percentage points compared to last year. Currently, 31.3 percent of Poles buy gifts in physical stores. By comparison, 17.8 percent order them from online stores, marking a 3.2 percentage point decline y/y.
Additionally, most consumers plan to buy presents for 4-5 people – 28.2 percent – with little change from last year. A single gift will typically cost 51-100 PLN – 40.5 percent, similar to last year’s 42.9 percent. The most commonly purchased items will be cosmetics (61.6 percent), toys (56.1 percent), and sweets (44.7 percent).
