Polish companies taking over in Germany and USA

Poland’s Foreign Expansion Fund (FEZ), part of PFR, is co-financing a growing number of acquisitions by Polish companies in Germany and the U.S., mainly in industry, food processing, and IT. A notable case is Radom-based Trend Group’s purchase of Germany’s Gala Group, employing 4,000 people worldwide.
FEZ has already backed over 20 projects, including six in the U.S., where Polish firms are shifting from sales units to acquiring local businesses amid favorable conditions—succession gaps, weaker private equity activity, and trade barriers. In Germany, family firms without heirs are often available at discounts, creating opportunities for Polish buyers. FEZ sees further expansion into Ukraine, the Balkans, the Gulf, Asia, and Africa.
