Polish online sales reached a record high in August 2026, with the Base Index rising to 182 points. Sales increased 3.8% from July and 15.9% y/y, far outpacing inflation and global e-commerce growth of 7.2%. Back-to-school shopping drove strong demand for children’s products, books and educational materials. Order volumes rose 17.7% y/y, while the average basket value fell 1.6%, suggesting consumers are buying more frequently in smaller quantities. Cross-border sales increased 28.3% and accounted for 20.65% of Polish online retailers’ revenue.

The trend creates logistical challenges, as retailers must process more packages and warehouse operations. Black Friday will test whether their systems can handle the growing order volume.
