The Polish economy is recovering surprisingly quickly. In this respect, we are the main leader not only in European countries but also in terms of countries around the world. Taking into account the influence of various factors and the fact that demand is constantly stimulated by, for example, the anti-inflationary shield or an increase in average wages, forecasts say that in 2022 GDP should increase by 4.1 percent. The first half of the year looks much better than its end.
"The near future will be very complicated – in the past, the forecasts in the baseline scenario were made with almost 70 percent of certainty, but today nothing is certain. Poland will probably end this year with economic growth exceeding 5 percent – so we will go beyond what we achieved in 2019. This is the opposite situation to our main partners, who in 2021 recovered only half of their losses from a year ago. As for next year, it will also be rather upward, like this year," Piotr Soroczyński, chief economist of the Polish Chamber of Commerce, said.
