Perhaps we emit more harmful carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than other countries, for which we currently have to pay a lot of money in energy bills. Although new wind turbines are being built, and the roofs of many houses are adorned with photovoltaic panels, in October 62 percent of energy came from coal, and in November so far 56 percent.
But for that – in Poland, we use significantly fewer single-use plastic bags than other European countries. What's more, consumption is declining year-on-year.
Thanks to the recycling fee, the use of plastic bags has fallen by as much as 30 times compared to 2017. The recycling fee on thin bags in Poland applies only to food packaging bags.
