Poland’s upcoming EU Council presidency will focus on artificial intelligence (AI), digital technologies, cybersecurity, digital regulation, and internet governance. Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasized the importance of these priorities for societal and security needs. Cybersecurity is a top concern, with a 100% increase in cyberattacks in Poland last year. Poland plans to strengthen EU-wide cybersecurity strategies and investments.
On AI, efforts will center on investment strategies, "AI factories," and contributing to the EU's AI strategy. Poland also leads in implementing the EU AI Act. Key events include a March informal meeting on digital investments, a June EU Council session on internet governance, and a "Digital Summit" in Gdańsk to support SMEs in adopting new technologies.
