Poland’s Ministry of Digital Affairs has launched a PLN 3 million grant program to support fact-checking, debunking, and anti-disinformation education after Meta ended its global fact-checking partnerships. NGOs can receive between PLN 50,000 and PLN 500,000 for training, materials, and online outreach, with applications open until 9 January 2026. The initiative is part of the new program “Building Knowledge in the Field of Countering Disinformation,” aimed at improving public understanding of false narratives, especially on climate, health, social issues, and technology.

Fact-checking groups welcome the funding but stress that one-time grants are insufficient; long-term, systemic support is needed as disinformation grows and organizations face chronic funding instability.
