President of the European Parliament Honored in Łódź During First Official Visit

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Lodz University of Technology on Friday, June 20, during her first official visit to the city. The university recognized Metsola for her unwavering commitment to strengthening the idea of European unity, promoting the rule of law, defending human rights, and advancing European integration.
Following the ceremony, Metsola participated in the Great European Picnic, where she joined an attempt to set a Polish record for the largest group performance of the EU anthem, Ode to Joy. The event took place under the patronage of MEP Dariusz Joński.
During her visit to Poland, Metsola also met with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and addressed the media, offering brief remarks on Poland’s EU Council presidency and commenting on the country’s recent presidential election results.
