Prices in Poland to rise by 6-8% y/y in Q1 2024
The biggest price increases are likely to occur in March, when the Easter holiday will drive up demand for food and other products.
According to Robert Biegaj, an expert on the retail market in Offerista Group, the main factors driving inflation in Poland are the rising cost of raw materials, energy, and labor. The government's decision to raise the minimum wage in January will also contribute to inflation.
The withdrawal of the zero VAT rate on some food products in the second quarter of 2024 could lead to further price increases.
Overall, it is expected that prices in Poland will continue to rise in 2024, but at a slower pace than in 2023.
