Inflation in Poland amounted to 2.6 percent in June, up from 2.4 percent in May, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) confirmed on Monday. However, the prices of services last month rose by as much as 3.9 percent y/y. “The large rise in the inflation of service prices is caused by, among other things, the consumption boom stimulated by generous social transfers in the pre-election period,” explained Rafał Benecki, the chief economist at ING Bank Śląski.
