Prof. Buzek: wind energy development is crucial for EU and USA partnership

The development of wind energy is crucial for the EU-US partnership, according to Prof. Jerzy Buzek. Poland aims to generate 18 GW of offshore wind power from the Baltic Sea by 2040, strengthening energy security and driving regional economic growth, stated Climate Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska.
The government plans to accelerate offshore wind projects, improve grid infrastructure, and enhance energy storage. Buzek emphasized that reducing reliance on fossil fuels is essential for economic competitiveness and geopolitical independence, urging bold energy transformation.
Lithuania also commits to offshore wind expansion, targeting 4.5 GW by 2050. The Baltic Sea Offshore Wind Summit 2025 in Gdańsk gathered industry leaders and policymakers to address challenges and strengthen Europe’s clean energy future.
