PwC report: Krakow among the fastest growing metropolises

According to a PwC Polska report, Kraków is one of the fastest-growing Polish metropolises, especially in the past decade (2014–2024), with a development rate of 4%—above the national average of 3.7%. Key areas of progress include investment attractiveness, human capital, and institutional efficiency. However, the city faces serious financial challenges, with a debt of 7 billion PLN, and underutilization of its academic potential. The report recommends improving debt management and financing strategies.
PwC also calls for faster metro and green transport development, better air quality, and a modern airport. Since joining the EU, Kraków has completed over 420 projects worth nearly 10 billion PLN, half funded by the EU.
