Ukrainian refugees contributed an estimated 2.4% of Poland’s GDP in 2025, or about PLN 94 billion, according to a Deloitte report commissioned by UNHCR. Their contribution could reach 2.8% of GDP by 2035. Refugee-related economic activity generated an estimated PLN 43.6 billion in additional public revenue, which was about 2.6% higher overall. Refugee employment rose 7 percentage points year over year to 76%, comparable with the rate for Polish citizens. Work and self-employment are the main income source for 87% of surveyed refugee households, and median net wages rose 45% from 2023 to 2025.

However, many refugees work below their qualifications: 62% have higher education, but only 29% of employed refugees work in managerial, specialist or technical roles.
