Report: for Christmas, average Pole will spend PLN 1,800 more than a year ago
Poles will spend an average of PLN 1,787 on Christmas in 2025 – 13% more than last year, despite overall holiday preparation being about PLN 150 cheaper for a typical four-person family. According to a report by the Polish Bank Association and Minds & Roses, gifts and food remain the largest expenses. About 51% of respondents plan to limit spending, mainly on food and presents. Lower fuel prices and cheaper services are reducing some costs, such as travel and carp, while sweets and Christmas trees are more expensive.
Most people (86%) will spend the holidays at home, with only 2% traveling abroad. Researchers note that household financial stability has improved compared to 2024.
