Residents of Warsaw are preparing a lawsuit against the city hall in response to severe noise pollution caused by reckless driving, known as "road pirates." Activists, led by Alan Grinde of the Orion Foundation, emphasize that many drivers are unaware of the detrimental effects of noise on health. The lawsuit, expected to be filed after October 9, seeks compensation ranging from PLN 5,000 to PLN 25,000 for each plaintiff and demands effective measures against nighttime traffic disturbances. Previous attempts at dialogue with city authorities have been unsuccessful, prompting this legal action. The city hall defers responsibility to the police, but advocates argue that proper regulation is essential to mitigate both noise and road safety issues.
