In January 2019 retail sales grew by 6.6 percent on the annual basis and decreased by 19.1 percent on the monthly basis, according to Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS). Market consensus prepared by the Polish Press Agency (PAP) saw the sales increase of 6.2 percent annually and a decrease of 19.5 percent monthly.
In real terms, Polish retail sales were up by 5.2 percent in January following a growth of 3.9 percent in December 2018.
