Rocket factory for South Korea’s HOMAR-K rocket system under construction in Gorzów Wielkopolski
Preparatory work has begun on a factory in Gorzów Wielkopolski that will produce CGR-080 missiles for Poland’s HOMAR-K rocket artillery systems. The project, developed by Hanwha WB Advanced Systems—a joint venture between Poland’s WB Electronics and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace—is expected to cost about PLN 1.5 bln and employ around 150 people.
Poland’s Armament Agency has ordered several thousand CGR-080 missiles, which have a range of 80 km, under a contract worth approximately PLN 14 bln. Deliveries are scheduled for 2030–2033, while the first missiles are expected to be produced locally in 2028.
HOMAR-K is based on South Korea’s K239 Chunmoo system and can launch various missiles, including ballistic weapons with ranges of up to about 300 km.
