Salaries rising sharply in Poland by 13.6%

In 2024, the average gross monthly wage in Poland reached PLN 8,181.72, marking a 13.6% nominal increase y/y, surpassing 2023’s 13.1% rise. Wage growth occurred across all sectors, ranging from 2.3% (mining and other services) to 24.2% (education). Pay disparities remain stark—workers in hospitality earned the least (PLN 5,516), while those in information and communication earned the most (PLN 13,459).
The minimum wage was PLN 4,242 in the first half of 2024 and PLN 4,300 in the second. Over 402,000 people earned minimum wage or less. Employment rose slightly by 0.3% to 11 million jobs, with gains in hospitality, healthcare, and culture, but declines in energy and administrative services.
