Salaries up 11.9% in August, above expectations
In August 2023, the average gross monthly salary in Poland reached PLN 7,368.97, marking an 11.9% increase compared to the previous year. The data, provided by the Central Statistical Office (GUS), pertains to average salaries paid by companies employing at least 9 individuals.
This average salary exceeded economist expectations, who anticipated an 11.8% year-on-year increase. Notably, the salary growth now outpaces inflation, which stood at 10.1% in August 2023.
