Salaries up 5.3% y/y in June – GUS
The average gross wages and salaries in the enterprise sector in June 2019 amounted to PLN 5,104.46, which means an increase of 5.3 percent y/y, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) has said. Employment in this sector increased by 2.8 percent. “The probability of a strong acceleration in wage growth in the second half of this year is low,” Jakub Borowski, the chief economist of Credit Agricole Bank Polska, commented. He added that the annual employment growth will gradually decrease.
