Sanna Marin at Impact’24: Russia Should Be Cut off From the International Community
"Russia should be cut off from the international community. We must show that it is not worth attacking sovereign, independent countries," said Sanna Marin, the former Prime Minister of Finland, at the Impact'24 congress in Poznań.
In her opinion, Russia must pay for the attack on Ukraine—literally.
"An important question is the issue of financial aid for Ukraine. The question is: what will happen to the frozen Russian assets? Russia should bear a significant cost for what has happened," Marin emphasized.
Marin believes that Europe must do everything possible to become as independent as possible from authoritarian countries.
"We need to strengthen our own innovations, invest in research, invest in people and education, in know-how. We need public-private partnerships. Public institutions must cooperate with companies because politicians do not have the expertise; private companies do. We need true collaboration when it comes to new technologies. Then we will be able to respond to challenges such as the climate crisis," the former Prime Minister of Finland said.
