Saudi Arabia Condemns Violence And Expresses Solidarity with Germany
In response to a tragic incident at a Christmas market in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, where a driver crashed into a crowd, resulting in four fatalities, including a child, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed solidarity with Germany. The Ministry stated on social media that Saudi Arabia "rejects violence" and stands with the German people and the victims' families.
The suspect, a 50-year-old Saudi national residing in Germany since 2006, has been detained by police. He is reportedly a medical professional specializing in psychiatry and psychotherapy. The incident also left dozens injured, with reports indicating up to 60 people affected.
Saxony-Anhalt's Prime Minister, Reiner Haseloff, confirmed the casualties and extended condolences to the victims' families. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive behind the attack.
