Saule Technologies intends to build new factories
The NewConnect-listed company responsible for developing the breakthrough perovskite cell technology, Saule Technologies, is on the eve of deciding to build new factories. These factories would produce tools using this technology.
The company is also in further talks to test its perovskite devices.
Saule Technologies has made a name for itself by developing perovskite cell technology, which works on a similar principle to the commonly used photovoltaic cells. However, perovskites are much more efficient – so they can be used, for example, in small-sized devices.
According to co-founder and one of the CEO of Saule, Artur Kupczunas, the potential demand for photovoltaic modules by Saule in the long term can be huge.
"Today in Poland there is more or less 20 million sqm of storage space of the modern type, that is, with limited carrying capacity, which makes it impossible to use silicon modules [i.e. modules commonly used in photovoltaics – ed.] So we are talking about 30 years of our production to fill the demand of the Polish market only, not to mention the European market, the USA or Asia. So we are talking about huge investments enabling the construction of a number of factories which will be able to respond to market demand," Kupczunas emphasized.
