Saule Technologies: investment in perovskite tech may require huge investment

Following an internal audit, Saule Technologies announced that bringing its perovskite solar cell technology to industrial readiness may take up to 10 years and cost around PLN 1.2 billion. The audit revealed the technology is still in its early development phase, contradicting earlier claims by the former management.
Saule’s current board accused the previous leadership of misleading investors and misusing public and private funds, and plans to file a report to the prosecutor’s office. Allegedly, over 50% of funds were spent on non-R&D activities. Despite this, the company confirms the technology’s potential and remains open to cooperation. The case reflects deep internal conflict, including a prior criminal complaint by co-founder Olga Malinkiewicz against Columbus Energy executives.
