Sebastian Junghänel joins GTC as COO

The Supervisory Board of GTC has appointed Sebastian Junghänel as Member of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer (COO), a position he will assume on September 2, 2025. The experienced executive and asset manager will be responsible, among other areas, for implementing the company’s strategy in the German market, where GTC holds a portfolio of 5,200 residential units with a total area of 325,000 sqm.
For over 18 years, Sebastian Junghänel has been active in the commercial and residential real estate sector in Germany and Central and Eastern Europe. He specializes in asset management, strategic and operational planning, and project development, with a strong focus on ESG and innovation. He has successfully led optimization processes on multiple occasions and has built and scaled international teams.
As Co-Founder and Managing Director of ZEITGEIST Asset Management for over 11 years, he built a real estate portfolio worth €1 billion from scratch, covering residential, office, hospitality, and student housing projects across five CEE countries. Previously, he held senior management positions at the HOCHTIEF Group, where he was responsible for projects in Germany, Austria, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.
