Sejm erupts in political clash

A heated confrontation broke out in the Sejm as PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński and KO MP Roman Giertych clashed over the interrogation and subsequent death of Barbara Skrzypek, a longtime PiS associate. Kaczyński accused Giertych and his legal team of mistreating Skrzypek during questioning related to the Srebrna skyscraper scandal, calling him a “sadist.” Giertych rejected the claim and announced legal action.
Tensions escalated as PiS MPs shouted at Giertych, prompting Vice-Marshal Piotr Zgorzelski to call a recess. KO later announced plans to report PiS members for offensive remarks.
Skrzypek had been questioned on March 12 in an ongoing investigation into PiS-linked business dealings. Three days later, she died of a heart attack. Prime Minister Donald Tusk weighed in on social media, sharing an image of the altercation with the caption: “It had no right to succeed, Jarek.”
