Sejm passes reforms for Polish Investment Zone
Poland’s Sejm has passed amendments to the Polish Investment Zone (PSI), extending the maximum support decision period to 20 years, simplifying tax relief for reinvestments and ending the “strict links” test. The law also provides for a digital platform from 2029 and waives job-creation requirements when investors commit to automation. Its most significant change is an additional opinion from the head of the National Revenue Administration for support decisions involving tax relief of at least PLN 40 mln, up from the government’s proposed PLN 25 mln threshold.
Business representatives say the changes are largely cosmetic. They argue the law leaves outdated quality criteria untouched and does little to improve Poland’s ability to compete for foreign investment.
