SMEs want to digitize, but work without a plan and do not measure effects
More than half of SME owners do not understand how e-commerce platforms work, 43% are unfamiliar with customer service tools, and nearly half do not use cybersecurity technologies. At the same time, 64% see digitalization as key to growth. Over the next 12 months, micro firms plan to spend about PLN 106,000, small firms PLN 300,000, and medium firms over PLN 987,000 on digital solutions. Investments focus on communication tools, marketing automation, HR software, and CMS systems, while 20% already use generative AI. However, over 91% do not measure the impact of digitalization with KPIs.
Despite strong interest, adoption is often unstructured. Key barriers include market uncertainty and limited financing, not technology gaps.
