Solorz family moves to delist ZE PAK
The Solorz family is preparing a tender offer that could remove ZE PAK from the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Cyprus-registered Argumenol, controlled by Zygmunt Solorz’s children, plans to offer PLN 18 per share, a 4.2 percent premium to Friday’s closing price. Argumenol already owns 65.96 percent of the power group and would need about PLN 311 million in total to buy out all remaining minority shareholders at the proposed price.
The planned delisting comes as ZE PAK moves deeper into a costly transition away from lignite. The company has closed most conventional assets, expects total 2026 job reductions of around 700 positions and plans to end lignite mining this year. Its remaining Pątnów II unit has capacity-market support through 2027. ZE PAK is also building a CCGT plant in Turek and plans 500 MW of wind capacity in Opolskie for 2031.
