Nearly half of Polish women consider menopause a taboo subject, even though 70% of women and 60% of men want it discussed publicly, according to Kulczyk Foundation research. At the same time, 93% of women cannot correctly define menopause.

The issue has broader social and economic implications. Poland has about 4.5 million women aged 40–55, nearly 70% of whom are economically active. Among working women in this age group, 94% report symptoms related to the menopausal transition, while 83% say these symptoms negatively affect their comfort and effectiveness at work.

Kulczyk Foundation argues that better education, more holistic medical support and workplace measures are needed. Suggested solutions include easier access to medical consultations, flexible or remote work, and better temperature control in workplaces.
